Sean Barnes is now a member of the Ocean CIty City Council after being sworn in by Mayor Jay Gillian at the start of a Thursday morning meeting at City Hall. According to an article in the Press of Atlantic City voters picked Barnes over former Councilman Michael DeVlieger in the May nonpartisan election, when they also voted on four at-large members.The other new and returning members will take their oaths at the July reorganization meeting, but Barnes officially became a member earlier because the seat had been vacant since the resignation of former member Karen Bergman to accept a job with the city.
