In Atlantic City, another $22 million will be spent to improve the century-old flood control canal that runs under city streets and can hold more than 1.1 million cubic feet of stormwater, city officials said Monday.The Baltic Avenue Canal runs from Atlantis Avenue and Beach Thorofare near the Atlantic City Expressway to Fisherman’s Park near Gardner’s Basin, with pumping stations at each end to send stormwater back into the bay once the tide is low enough.
