AC Store Merchant Charged With Selling Drugs On The Job

Atlantic City Police arrested a store merchant who was distributing narcotics while on the clock.
On August 16, detectives were conducting surveillance in the 1400 block of Atlantic Avenue focusing on the distribution and possession of narcotics. During this period, the merchant at the 24-7 Food Mart left from behind the counter several times to engage with customers. As Morgan was interacting with the customers, he was observed engaged in the sale of narcotics while in possession of a digital scale which is used by individuals distributing narcotics. Morgan was also observed selling loose cigarettes to a customer.
The store was turned over to one of the owners, Tariq Mehmood. Investigators from the Department of Treasury’s Office charged Mehmood and Yasmin Faheem with various charges related to the tobacco offenses.
