The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will drill a test well at the site of the former Conoco gas station in Brigantine in the next couple of weeks to see whether the soil is contaminated, Mayor Vince Sera said. The city has been trying to do something about the shuttered gas station on Atlantic Brigantine Boulevard since it was abandoned about three years ago.”The owner had to walk away for a reason,” Sera said at a recent City Council meeting. “We’re concerned there might be an issue with the tanks.”
