Van Drew, State Lawmakers Want PUC Public Hearing On Proposed Electric Hikes

Rep. Jeff Van Drew and state lawmakers on Monday asked the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities to hold a public hearing and investigate billing by Atlantic City Electric. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Van Drew says he has heard from thousands of residents in the past few months indicating that their energy bills have sometimes tripled compared to the same period last summer. State Sen. Michael Testa called for legislative hearings on what he called “shockingly-high utility prices.”
