Hydrant Flushing

New Jersey American Water will begin routine hydrant flushing today in Egg Harbor Township and Somers Point and continuing through Oct. 14, the utility said in notices to customers. Flushing will occur between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.Customers may notice reduced pressure or discolored water, the utility said. If your water is discolored, run the cold water taps only, at the lowest level of the house, for about three to five minutes until the water runs clear. If the water is discolored, the utility suggested customers refrain from doing laundry during flushing hours.
