In an effort to eliminate pesky and sometimes harmful micrplastics the Atlantic County Utilities Authority is partnering with Princeton-based startup PolyGone Systems to bring the world’s first industrial-scale microplastic removal pilot program, as well as an educational pavilion, to the ACUA’s wastewater treatment facility on Route 30. A 2019 environmenetal study found the plastic ingested every week by the average person is roughly equal to that of a credit card.
