Pleasantville Chef Andre Murphy and his nonprofit organization, Healing for the Soul, are preparing 2,500 meals this weekend in the kitchens of the Atlantic City Convention Center to send to people in Asheville, North Carolina, who were affected by Hurricane Helene. The meals will head out tomorrow to North Carolina, recovering from the storm earlier this month that left at least 230 dead and many homes destroyed.The operation costs about $8,000, Murphy said, and that includes food cost, packaging and ground travel.
