Late last week, the Somers Point Police Department responded to the Acme Supermarket in regards to a strong armed robbery.
The victim an 83 year old Somers Point woman was approached from behind, near the entrance, assaulted and her purse was stolen.
The accused described as a younger possibly white male wearing a mask and dark clothing, fled the scene towards Bethel Road.
The victim was transported to SMC with injuries sustained in the incident.
