About a quarter of the sand placed on Strathmere beaches early this year has eroded away, township engineer Ryan MacNeil told the Township Committee during a December meeting.The most recent beach replenishment project was completed in January as part of a $33.7 million U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contract to add sand to beaches in Ocean City and the Strathmere section of the township, in cooperation with the state Department of Environmental Protection.
