Proposed Spending Plan In Cape May County Would Reduce Tax Rate

Members of the Cape May County Board of Commissioners celebrated a 2025 budget introduced Tuesday that would reduce the tax rate. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Commission Director Len Desiderio says the budget, if approved as introduced, will ask county taxpayers for $671,000 less than the year before, the first time there has been such a reduction in more than 30 years. With a steady increase in the overall assessed value of property in the county, the county government can usually count on more cash with the same tax rate based on every $100 of assessed value.
