Sean Riggin, who has been serving as Department of Community Affairs monitor in Atlantic City for the past few months, will now oversee public safety, including the Police and Fire departments. Riggin already has had a long working relationship with Atlantic City police, serving 20 years as a police officer in neighboring Pleasantville.
When he became chief May of 2015, the cities already were used to joining together as many cases connected the two towns.
