Blackwood Mna Gets Three Years For Theft, Hindering Prosecution

– On Friday, 31 year old Tyree Gittens from Blackwood, NJ, pleaded guilty before the Honorable Joseph Levin,
J.S.C., to third-degree theft and third-degree hindering apprehension, as well as disorderly
persons narcotics offenses in exchange for a recommended sentence of three years in New
Jersey State Prison. On October 9, 2024, Atlantic City police observed Gittens displaying signs of distress inside of a restaurant in Atlantic City. He told police he was chased inside by a woman with a baton-like
stick. Police spoke to the woman and she advised that Gittens had stolen her package that was
delivered outside of her home address. The victim provided video coverage of the incident and
police were able to positively identify the suspect as Gittens.
