A motion to sever the cases against Atlantic City’s mayor and schools superintendent accused of abusing their teenage daughter will now be heard next month, reports the Press of Atlantic City. Marty Small Sr. and his wife, La’Quetta Small are scheduled to appear in front of Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury at 9 a.m. June 16. The couple were originally expected to appear Thursday.
The Smalls are each charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Mayor Small also is charged with terroristic threats and aggravated assault. Both pleaded not guilty Oct. 10.
