In Maurice River township one person had to be rescued Wednesday morning after falling into a 12-foot hole on the deck of a barge docked along a river bank, the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Department said. Crews responded to the area at 7:32 a.m. and made contact with the individual and a coworker who attempted to assist, the department said. A confined space rescue team arrived and extricated the patient from the space, the department said in a Facebook post. The individual sustained minor injuries, the department said.
