Atlantic City officials are launching a new marketing campaign to emphasize the importance of shopping local as part of Small Business Month.According to the Press of Atlantic City dozens gathered in City Council chambers Thursday to announce signage featuring information about local businesses would be placed around the city and parking would be free citywide May 17 to allow visitors and residents alike to shop, eat and explore. “We want to put a spotlight on the businesses that are the engine of our local economy,” said Bruce Weekes, a former city councilman who now serves as the Assistant Director of economic development for the city.
