Crews are mopping up hot spots and patrolling the perimeter of a wildfire burning a section of Wharton State Forest in Shamong Township, Burlington County, reports the Press of Atlantic City. The fire, which has burned 5,750 acres, is 80% contained, officials said around noon. The fire activity remains limited to creeping and smoldering within the established containment lines, officials said. This is expected to continue until substantial rainfall occurs.
