Voters Head To The Polls Tuesday

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to decide their party’s nominees in several key races, including for governor, Assembly and Atlantic City mayor. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in New Jersey’s primary elections. The Press of Atlantic City reports nearly a dozen candidates will compete for the chance to succeed term-limited Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy. Voters will also pick nominees for the state Assembly. Although Democrats have long dominated New Jersey’s federal offices as well as the state Legislature, the governor’s office has changed hands regularly between the two major political parties for most of the last century.
