The Atlantic City Housing Authority will have a response to a threatened federal takeover. According to BreakingAC.com, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development found the local authority in “substantial default,” according to an 18-page letter Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Benjamin Hobbs sent last Monday. At a special meeting held Tuesday — six working days into the 10-day deadline — the authority unanimously approved a response, which is still being written.
