A defense attorney’s previous representation of a key state witness against Atlantic City’s first couple does not represent a conflict, a judge ruled Thursday. BreakingAC.com reports Mayor Marty Small and his wife, Superintendent of Schools Dr. La’Quetta Small, are accused of assaulting their teenage daughter. The girl’s boyfriend at the time was on calls with the teen during some of the alleged abuse and captured recordings. The defense claims a wiretap violation, saying the boy did not have permission to record the conversations in which he was not involved.
