Swimming Banned On Wildwood Beaches Due To Erin Impact

Swimming is not allowed on city beaches due to dangerous conditions from Hurricane Erin, police said Monday. The Press of Atlantic City reports the restriction includes when lifeguards are off duty. Public Safety Commissioner Steve Mikulski said in a statement. “When individuals ignore safety precautions and enter the water, our first responders are forced to put themselves at risk. The Wildwood Beach Patrol, Fire Department, and Police Department work tirelessly to protect this community, and we must not endanger them needlessly.”
