Lockdown Lifted At Stockton University

Stockton University students were given the all clear just after 4 p.m. Thursday, hours after a shooting nearby led to the campus going on lockdown. According to BreakingAC.com, classes and events were canceled for Thursday, with a normal schedule returning Friday. One person was wounded in a shooting Jimmie Leeds Road near Redwood Avenue just before 1 p.m. Thursday, police said. The motive has not been confirmed. The victim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s City Campus in Atlantic City for treatment. The hospital’s Mainland Campus near the school was on lockdown. Police were seeking two suspects in a white sedan connected to the shooting, an alert put out by the university just after 2 p.m. said. After the shooting, the vehicle turned onto Vera King Farris Drive, traveling north through the campus and has not been located, according to the alert.
