West Nile Virus Found in Northfield Mosquito Pool Sample

The Atlantic County Division of Public health is reporting another mosquito pool sample that has tested positive for West Nile virus. The sample was collected on September 2 from the 700 block of Debora Street in Northfield and confirmed for the mosquito-borne illness on September 9.
West Nile virus is most prevalent during late summer and early fall. The risk continues until the first hard frost eliminates mosquito populations.
County public health and mosquito control officials continue to conduct mosquito surveillance and implement additional control measures, including mosquito ground sprays.
Most people infected with West Nile virus experience mild
