A Mays Landing man whose murder conviction was overturned in May will now be freed, after the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office dismissed the charge Thursday. BreakingAC.com reports Timothy Wright, now 45, was convicted in 2022, of strangling Joyce Vanderhoff, whose body was found dumped on the side of County Road 559-Weymouth Road on Valentine’s Day 2014. Then an appellate court ruled in May that the the state illegally kept his cell phone, meaning the turn-by-turn instructions from the dump site to Wright’s home used as evidence in the conviction should have been suppressed.
