Mosquito pool samples collected from resting boxes on Green Bank Road in Mullica and Griscom Mill Road in Corbin City have been confirmed positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), according to the Atlantic County Division of Public Health. County public health and mosquito control officials continue to conduct mosquito surveillance and implement additional control measures. EEE is most typically found in horses, but like West Nile virus, it can be transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes. Symptoms of EEE include fever, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, behavioral changes and drowsiness.
