An Atlantic City man has admitted assaulting a woman last summer and likely faces five years in prison, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office said.Derrick Lewis, 64, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on a domestic violence victim. Sentencing is scheduled for March 20.On June 28, Atlantic City police were dispatched to the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue for a domestic assault. Police spoke to the victim, who said the defendant repeatedly kicked and punched her in the face and ribs before choking her inside her vehicle.The victim was able to exit the vehicle and seek help from a bystander, the Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday in a news release.
