Opening statements are set to begin Monday morning in the trial of Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small. According to BreakingAC.com, Marty Small faces charges that include aggravated assault, terroristic threats and witness tampering in connection with alleged abuse of his teenage daughter. The allegations include that Small allegedly beat his daughter unconscious with a broom and later told her to lie about it. A jury was selected last week after three days with both sides going through a pool of more than 200 Atlantic County residents.
Friday was spent on several motions, with things still not fully decided.
