Two Volunteer Firefighters Save Man From Burning Home In Smithville

Two volunteer firefighters rescued a homeowner from his burning townhouse in Smithville early Wednesday morning. According to BreakingAC.com, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the Galloway Township fire as possibly suspicious. The fire was reported just before 4 a.m. in the 100 block of Waterview Drive in the township’s Smithville section. Galloway Township Officers Nicholas Stewart and John Parker, who also are volunteer firefighters, went into the residence and found the homeowner, who was pulled to safety. The unnamed man was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he remained in intensive care, police said.
