Urban Farming Ordinance

Atlantic City City Council has unanimously approved a new urban farming ordinance that supporters say could transform how vacant and underused land is used across the city. The Urban Agriculture District Overlay, introduced last month, received final approval Wednesday after a public hearing. The vote clears the way for expanded agricultural uses in residential, commercial and resort zoning districts.Backers say the ordinance opens the door for redeveloping undersized and vacant parcels, both publicly and privately owned.
