John E. Meyers, 69, of Port St. Lucie, FL, was charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the death of Frank Vincent Vitrano Jr., 72, of Buena, who records show owns Bellevue Bagel Cafe in Hammonton.
Authorities were notified on Saturday, Dec. 27, of an assault that occurred two days earlier at a home on the 100 block of Wright Avenue in Stratford, which resulted in Vitrano’s death, prosecutors said. During the investigation, detectives determined that Vitrano was struck in the head by Meyers during an argument on Thursday, Dec. 25, authorities said. Vitrano sought medical treatment the next day and was later pronounced dead on Dec. 27 at Cooper University Hospital, prosecutors said.
