Atlantic City has been waiting on how much longer the state’s oversight will last. The Municipal Stabilization and Recovery Act has been in effect since 2016, giving the state powers through the Department of Community Affairs. As that 10-year agreement comes to an end, legislators have been working on the terms of an extension.
