There were several absences at the special Pleasantville Board of Education meeting held Tuesday night. According to BreakingAC.com, that did not stop those who showed up from making a lot of decisions, including asking for an investigation into an alleged religious violation of a Muslim student at the Middle School.
The boy was told to take off a religious garment, several men told the board. It was especially disturbing, they said, on the eve of Ramadan, which started Wednesday. The meeting seemed to go more smoothly than in recent memory, as the five board members who showed up all were in agreement, including being the majority who petitioned for the special meeting in the first place.
