In Longport, the concrete seawall, pavers and curbs have been installed at Point Park, 11 th and Atlantic Ave, with installation of a water fountain, landscaping, benches and light poles still to come. Public Works built a new dune along the bayside to help prevent tidal flooding. There will still be public access to the beach, fishing jetty and five parking spaces. Point Park will be completed before Memorial Day. Also, construction begins in April to replace the bike lane on Atlantic Ave between 17th and 22nd Aves. along the rock wall. The current asphalt lane, prone to deterioration and many repairs, will be replaced by a smooth and more durable concrete bike lane that runs level with the street.
