Atlantic City Electric has vowed to work with the newly elected governor on her pledge to lower electricity costs. According to BreakingAC.com, Gov.-elect Mikie Sherrill has said that on her first day in office, she would propose a state of emergency that would allow her to freeze utility rates. Atlantic City Electric issued a press release, reading, in part, “We are eager to work with Gov.-elect Sherrill on long-term solutions to energy affordability, including community solar, battery storage, and other solutions like regulated generation, which would allow community-minded public utilities like Atlantic City Electric to start generating more power in New Jersey.”
