Atlantic City Decision-Making

New Jersey would continue to control Atlantic City’s major decision-making power for the next six years under a bill that moved forward Monday in the state Legislature. The state Senate Budget and Appropriations committee amended a bill that would reinstitute the state takeover of Atlantic City; the previous takeover law expired a week ago with no successor measure in place.According to the Press of Atlantic City the bill, sponsored by Sen. John Burzichelli, of Cumberland, would extend the takeover for six years instead of the five years called for in his original bill.
