A Hamilton Township man is charged with attempted murder after he allegedly came after his wife with a knife and a gun on Christmas. BreakingAC.com reports Stephen Pofi, 69, of Mays Landing, is accused of discharging the handgun twice, including after police ordered him out of the home. No one was injured in the attack. Police were called to the home in the 500 block of North Street at about 9:15 p.m., according to the report. The woman told police her husband had a knife and a handgun, and had fired the weapon, police said. When police arrived, they established a perimeter, and tried to make contact with Pofi, according to the report. He refused to obey instructions and again fired the handgun, this time in the direction of law enforcement. Pofi was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.
