High Winds, Bitter Cold A Concern In The Area This Weekend

The National Weather Service released an updated high wind watch at 1:12 p.m. on Thursday valid for Saturday between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Salem, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic, Cape May and Burlington counties. NJ.com reports northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are possible. Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia.
