In Northfield Atlantic County commissioners refused to discuss a resolution Tuesday that called for lawmakers to undo New Jersey’s status as a sanctuary state. No commissioner seconded the motion to consider it, so it died without being debated, and the room full of immigrant community representatives and their supporters heavily applauded. “It was initially proposed by the county executive (Dennis Levinson),” said Chairman John Risley.
