Cape May City Council unanimously approved an ordinance Wednesday that will increase the cost of beach tags next year. City Manager Mike Voll cited a new contract with the city lifeguards, wage increases for the beach tag inspectors and other expenses.He also said the city will soon need a new lifeguard headquarters, saying the existing building on the beach at Grant Street is too small and lacks sufficient accommodations for the female patrol members.
