An appeals court has agreed to hear an emergency petition from the city seeking to overturn the state’s rejection of plans for a new section of bulkhead along the beachfront. The Press of Atlantic City reports the city has until Thursday to file a motion on the matter, and the state Department of Environmental Protection has until Feb. 14 to respond. Mayor Patrick Rosenello wants to build a new stretch of bulkhead along 14th and 13th avenues, connecting the most recently built section of bulkhead in front of the lifeguard headquarters with the existing seawall at 12th Avenue.
