The city of Cape May wants more affordable housing according to Mayor Zack Mullock. Cape May is one of many communities throughout New Jersey are watching the progress of new affordable housing reform legislation that passed the Assembly earlier this month and has the backing of Gov. Phil Murphy. A Senate vote could come next week.On July 1, 2025, the third round of affordable housing closes. The proposed legislation would address a fourth round, which would require municipal action by the end of that year.
