ACHS Principal Indicated For Official Misconduct, Endangering The Welfare Of A Child

On Wednesday, 39 year old Constance Days-Chapman from Atlantic City and the principal of the Atlantic City High School, was indicted by an Atlantic County Grand Jury on five counts of Official Misconduct, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Hindering Apprehension of Another. It is alleged in the indictment that during the month of December 2023, a then 15-year-old female student at the Atlantic City High School disclosed to Days-Chapman in her office that she was suffering from continuous headaches due to being hit by her parents at home. DaysChapman did not notify either the Department of Child Protection and Permanency (DCP&P
formerly known as DYFS) nor law enforcement authorities as is required by statute and school
policy when a student discloses alleged child abuse to an employee at the school. Earlier this year, the teenage daughter of Mayor Marty Small Sr. and Superintendent La’Quetta Small told school officials she was being physically and mentally abused at home, according to a court document.
