The reconstruction of New Jersey Avenue (CR 621) in North Wildwood is underway between New York Avenue and 5th Street. This multi-million-dollar County project will include a “Road Diet”, which will reduce the current 4 lane configuration of the cartway into a new configuration consisting of two thru lanes and a center turning lane. Beginning on Friday October 11, 2024, motorists heading south along NJ Route 147 will be detoured south onto New York Avenue and shall proceed along New York Avenue to 10th Street. At 10th Street, motorists will be directed to head east back to New Jersey Avenue. Motorists travelling north along New Jersey Avenue (CR 621) will be directed west onto 10th Street toward New York Avenue. Motorists will then be directed to turn north onto New York Avenue and shall proceed north along New York Avenue to the New Jersey Avenue intersection. There will be a hard closure at both 5th Street and New York Avenue preventing thru traffic from entering.
