Northfield Mayor Waives Initial Court Appearance On Weapons, Harrassment Charges

The Northfield mayor accused of brandishing a starter pistol at a woman during an argument in the Mainland Regional High School parking lot waived his first appearance Wednesday, reports the Press of Atlantic City. 72 year old Erland V. Chau is charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, disorderly conduct and harassment, stemming from an incident October 1st. Chau was backing out of a parking space at the school before being blocked in by the victim, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
