Utility Efficiency Program

The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities has approved a series of energy efficiency programs for the state’s electric and gas utilities, including Atlantic City Electric. The programs bring along with them increased costs to ratepayers.The programs, dubbed Triennium 2 and announced Oct. 31, are designed to reduce average energy usage by achieving set levels within five years of implementation. A BPU statement announcing the approval says that “collectively over $3.75 billion has been budgeted for the programs and will be implemented over a 30-month period from January 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.”
