A Mays Landing resident was arrested after a hit-and-run accident left another man with life-threatening injuries and killed the victim’s dog, police said. According to the Press of Atlantic City Byron Jones, 52, was charged in the early Saturday morning accident at the intersection of Highland Boulevard and Marlborough Avenue. Police say Jones struck city resident Syed Hoque, 25, and his dog shortly after midnight and fled the scene.Hoque was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
