Atlantic County Files Suit Over Juvenile Justice Placement

Atlantic County has filed a lawsuit against the state Juvenile Justice Commission alleging it has failed to find facilities to house young offenders, which has resulted in an overcrowding issue it describes as a “crisis,” according to court documents. According to the Press of Atlantic City, the suit lists Prosecutor William Reynolds, Sheriff Joseph A. O’Donoghue and Michael Fedorko, the director of the county department of public safety, as plaintiffs.
