Sentencing Delayed For Former Wildwood Mayor

Sentencing for former Wildwood Mayor Pete Byron in a health benefits case has been postponed until April. The Press of Atlantic City reports Byron was originally scheduled to appear Friday in front of Cape May County Superior Court Judge Bernard DeLury. He pleaded guilty Sept. 27 to theft. Byron could have faced up to 16 years in prison, but prosecutors agreed to treat Byron as a third-degree offender and recommended a sentence of three years.
