Atlantic City Police arrested a man for attempted murder after shooting his child’s mother. Early Tuesday morning, patrol officers responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, for a report of a woman who was dropped off at the emergency department suffering from a gunshot wound. Through the investigation, officers were led to an apartment inside a building on the block. 39 year old Edwin Jones, three women, two toddlers, and an infant were removed from the residence that contained evidence of a crime scene.
It was determined that Jones shot the victim and directed another woman to drive her to the medical center. Police say 29 year old Katie Harpel of Somers Point attempted to assist in cleaning of the residence with cleaning supplies.
