Ernest Coursey, the only Democrat on the Atlantic County Board of Commissioners, will not run for reelection this year so he can focus on his health, he said Thursday.He is being treated for colon cancer at MD Anderson Cancer Center, part of Cooper University Health Care in Camden, and will have surgery Monday, he said.”I finished 12 weeks of chemo at MD Anderson … and this is my fourth or fifth week off treatment,” Coursey said. “My surgery is Monday morning.”Coursey, 62, emphasized how important it is to have colonoscopies as you get older.
